Getting The COVID Gut?
These past two months have been difficult, to say the least with record-high unemployment rates, the fear of the virus pandemic, mandatory lockdowns, and violent protests happening, it's understandable that exercising and eating right hasn't been the top priority for the average person. With all this stress, gyms being closed, and many healthy food options being unavailable, it's no coincidence that the average person has gained some weight (the COVID gut).
With that said, a lack of proper nutrition leads to the most common health problems and diseases. A poor diet can have detrimental effects on your gut health, poor gut health leaves other systems in the body to pick up the slack, taking an extra toll on these other systems. So essentially poor gut health leads to people being more susceptible to airborne viruses and infection.
Imagine you're a fireman and trying to put out a fire in a building and that building is your body. One small fire isn't a problem, the fireman can handle that easily. Now imagine the same building and you're the fireman but now there are two fires, or maybe three... See where I'm going with this? Your overall health & wellness is like that building when a small fire happens, it's not too difficult to fight one fire (health problem) but once there are multiple little fires (several health issues), it becomes very difficult to handle and then these health issues spread like wildfire (pun intended).
Bad gut health leads to improper digestion, inflammation, ulcers, infection, weight gain, and diabetes. Now imagine your body trying to fight all these fires (health issues) on top of trying to fight against an invasive virus attacking your body at the same time. You're hurting your chances for recovery by not giving your body the tools it needs in healing itself. It needs appropriate nutrition, proper supplementation, and sleep. It's much easier for your body to fight off a virus and/or other infections when it's not trying to also defend itself from multiple health issues. So start today on your road to recovery and get your body in tip-top shape and prepared for the best chance at taking on what's out there and living a healthy life.
